Pearls of Humanity Foundation

The Pearls of Humanity Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Articles of Incorporation were filed and recorded in the Office of Secretary of State in the State of Louisiana and authorized to transact business on June 16, 2015. On July 24, 2015, the Internal Revenue Service of the
United States Department of The Treasury approved the application for tax exempt status and determined the corporation a 501 (c) (3) public charity. Chartering directors were Kelli Collins, Alice Cooper, Markey Pierre’, Melanie Spencer, and Lisa Tomkies. With the demands of society becoming more imminent than ever to help those who are in need, The Pearls of Humanity Foundation, Incorporated is ever mindful of the principles that Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated® were founded upon, SERVICE TO ALL MANKIND.
While maintaining the standards of our sisterhood and keeping the mandate of the preamble of our national body, the Pearls of Humanity Foundation has endeavored to continuously address and support the needs of our community especially pertaining to our young women through the mission and programs of Sigma Rho Omega Chapter.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission for the Pearls of Humanity Foundation is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic achievement and life-long learning, to study and help alleviate problems concerning youth and the overall community to improve socioeconomic status, and to strengthen our communities through positive educational programming. This mission is accomplished through the support of programs addressing healthcare and wellness, economic independence, and scholarly
achievement.

PURPOSE
The purpose of the Pearls of Humanity Foundation, Inc. is to foster the educational, social, and cultural standards of the Greater Shreveport/Bossier community.

OUR PROGRAM
The Pearls of Humanity Foundation, Inc. partners with Sigma Rho Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®  and other non-profit community organizations to:
– Support the programs and initiatives of Sigma Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated ®
– Award leadership scholarships to students who demonstrate innovative, initiative-
driven leadership impacting their academic, work, or community environments.
– Support local, national, and international non-profit programs and organizations that
serve the public
– Sponsor fundraising events to support and/or fund our programs
