Debutante Cotillion

 
MISSION STATEMENT

 

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Sigma Rho Omega Chapter seeks to refine the ideals and principles that lead to finer womanhood in its debutantes utilizing cultural and educational experiences. As these young ladies emerge to make their debut into society, Sigma Rho Omega Chapter will gently guide them. The chapter accepts as its mission to promote concepts of high scholastic achievement, self-respect, independence, and work ethics that will enable its debutantes to meet the challenges of the new millennium.

 

PURPOSE

 

 With the demands of society becoming more imminent than ever to help those who are in need, Sigma Rho Omega Chapter is ever mindful of the principles that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded upon—–SERVICE TO ALL MANKIND. Along with maintaining the standards and keeping the mandate of the preamble of our national body, Sigma Rho Omega Chapter has continuously addressed and supported the national programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

 Each year a fundraiser, The Debutante Cotillion, is held which enables Sigma Rho Omega Chapter to provide a magnitude of programs and services to Shreveport and the surrounding communities.

 These services include, but are not limited to the following:

– Northwest Louisiana Food Bank
– Hope Connections
– STEM Scholarships –Southern University at Shreveport and Grambling State University
– Celebration of the Arts
